Frequently Asked Questions

Everyone has questions about new products, and our product is no different.  We have included a short list or our most frequently asked questions.  If you have more questions, please feel free to contact us.

Q: How is this attached to the deck? Is it glued to the deck?
A: No, it’s not attached to the deck at all. It’s attached to itself with our interlocking tabs. This way, it can be installed on a variety of surfaces, not just your deck. Your imagination is the only limit!

Q: Once it’s put down, will it move?
A: No, because of the total weight of the tiles interlocked, will not allow movement. Simply put, the weight of the tiles spread over the area covered, is too heavy for a person to move them.

Q: What about climatic changes?
A: All our wood species are dried to low moisture contents and this allows vast temperature and humidity extremes without splitting.

Q: Will the interlocking base deteriorate from being in the sun?
A: Our interlocking base is made from a high density polypropylene resin, with an integrated UV protectant, giving it a long life.

Q: Why is there a space between each wood piece?
A: It’s to allow for drainage and ease of maintenance.

Q: What if I want to change my pattern or integrate different species of wood for that “just right look”?
A: All you have to do is to unhook the interlocking tabs and place in what you desire.

Q: What about irregular shapes?
A: Mark your tile, just as you would any wood product, before cutting. Flip it the tile over and remove any screws which will be in your way and cut as you normally would.
